Cornerbacks Ready to Show They Are Not a Weakness Last year Clemson lost two great corners in Mario Goodrich and Andrew Booth to the NFL, which took a huge amount of defensive production out of the secondary room. With that said, after watching several practices this week, the CB room looks ready to shine high as a strength not a weakness on this team. Seniors Sheridan Jones and Elijah Rogers, Juniors Fred Davis and Malcolm Greene, Sophomore Nate Wiggins, and Freshman Jeadyn Lukus, Myles Oliver, and Toriano Pride have all shown in practice they are ready to fill those shoes in the secondary. One DB Nate Wiggins is getting high praise from not only the press, but also his coaches and players on the field. QB DJ Uiagalelei called him a superstar player already, Dabo in his press conference said he is excited about what the future holds for Nate. Yet, let’s not forget the leadership in the room Jones, Rogers, Davis and Greene also have showing great play and energy on the field. Plus, young Tigers Lukus, Oliver and Pride are competing for playing time and looked good in protection. With Clemson heading into the first game of the season vs. Georgia Tech on Labor Day, they will be tested early and often as teams look to see if they are up to the task. Coach Reed will have his group ready, regardless of who starts, Clemson is in good hands going into the season.
