Updated Score Prediction Based on Rain Rain Rain The Clemson Tigers are unveiling their new giant scoreboard today against Furman. Unfortunately, the rain Gods have decided it’s not going to on a pretty day. A wet field will also affect the score of this game. It won’t affect the outcome, but the final score might not be as high scoring. Everyone remembers the “Monsoon Game” against Notre Dame. It didn’t just rain, and anyone there knows what it was like. The fans can survive anything weather related. It was a packed house, but then again, it was Notre Dame. This is Furman. A rain day is usually good for the teams with the big OL and bruising running backs. The Clemson line should dominate Furman all day long, on both sides of the ball. It’s hard enough for opposing teams to move the ball on the Tigers on a dry field. Could a wet field also equalize the “speed advantage” the Tigers have over the Paladins? Probably not. Look for the Tiger offense to still have its way with the undermanned Paladins. On this day, Clemson will probably get 100+ players on the field by the end of regulation. We aren’t sure all five quarterbacks will see snaps, but that isn’t out of the question. It could basically mean a scoreless 4th quarter, and people will probably be getting out of the rain. Adjusted score prediction due to weather? Clemson still wins easily 42-0. No disrespect to Furman, but it is Furman, and they will find it tough going against this talented Tiger defense, even the 2nd and 3rd teams.
